About the Project

This research project studies the migration of minority religious laws and their effects on Jewish and Muslim women, looking at two particular forms of religious divorce: the Jewish Get and the Islamic Talaq. More specifically, it aims to explore the strategies used by Jewish and Muslim women to navigate between the religious and secular spheres upon divorce. This requires interviews with women who have undergone a civil divorce in the UK while also dealing with the divorce requirements of Islam or Judaism.
